Among drugs and narcotics, only betel-leaves and tobacco (tambakhu) are grown in the district. The area under tobacco was 7 hectares in 1971-72 all of which was located in Sinnar taluka. Betel-leaves are grown in Chandvad, Dindori, Sinnar, Yeola and Niphad talukas and occupied an area of 164 hectares in 1963-64, of which 76 per cent (i.e., 125 hectares) was located in Chandvad taluka.

The total area under all drugs and narcotics was 90 hectares in 1971-72.
