LOANS BY DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL CO-OPERATIVES AND VILLAGE INDUSTRIES

The policy of the State Government in regard to the development of cottage and small-scale industries, has been liberal throughout the post-war period and has found full support in the second five-year plan. To implement this policy the Government has established a iseparate department known as the Department of Industrial Co-operatives and Village Industries with a view to fostering the growth of these industries. The Department works out certain schemes for giving financial assistance to cottage and village industries under which it has made considerable progress in meeting the demands for such assistance from a large number of artisans and co-operative societies and giving them benefit of its schemes.
