The Forensic Science Laboratories in the State provide
scientific aid to the
Police Investigating Officers to Modernise the methods of crime investigation.
The Laboratories are located at Mumbai (Head Office), Nagpur, Pune and
Aurangabad. The analytical reports issued by this Department help the
police and the Judiciary in the detection of Crime and administration
of Criminal Justice.
The main functions of this Directorate are-:
Laboratory examination of diverse physical evidence
materials.
Providing reliable and irrefutable circumstances
and evidence.
Train Investigating Police Officers in the use
of Scientific aid.
Extend technical services to the Union Territory
of Daman and Diu, Goa State and to Military Hospitals and Central
Bureau of Investigation in the State.
