Situated
along the Mahrashtra-Karnataka border, Latur district has achieved remarkable
agricultural development despite adverse climate. It has introduced revolutionary
study techniques for the intensely competitive 10th and 12th standard examinations.
This set of techniques is now famously known as the Latur Pattern. The district
created academic history with many of its students topping the State merit
list. A major marketplace in this region, Latur has achieved accolades due
to the Manjara Co-operative Sugar Factory, which has won many awards at
the State and National level for excellent performance. Udgir, Ausa, Nilanga
and Hatti Bet are some of the places of tourist attraction.
